Lynn Mason

 
Raised in Northport NY where she was an active member of the Protestant and Methodist church, Lynn then lived for many years in northern CA, Utah & Colorado. She currently resides with her husband Steve Fry in Silvermine, a district of New Canaan, CT, and works as the Program Specialist for the Senior Center of Greenwich, CT and as Secretary – Treasurer of Laborers’ International Union of North America, local 136, having served previously as Business Manager from 2005 to 2013.

A lifelong activist for environmental, labor and human rights issues, Lynn holds B.S. degrees in Wildlife Biology (minor – Native American studies), Music Therapy, completed graduate work in Consciousness studies as well as a 6 month clinical internship at the Veteran’s Home of CA. An accomplished musician, Lynn co-created a musical/theatrical performance based on the life and poetry of Rumi which was performed at the U.N. and other regional venues. She continues to play, performs occasionally and is a lover of music of all styles.

Lynn has participated in numerous anti-war, labor, and human rights actions. She was a member of the 1990 New Haven Sister city Creative Arts Therapy Delegation to Leon, Nicaragua and recently joined the TOLEF Trade Union Delegation to Palestine in September 2017. Lynn is serving as the 4th CT Congressional District Advocacy Coordinator for TOLEF. She enjoys restoring the environment around her home by gardening with native plants that provide food for local birds, butterflies and pollinators. She loves Kayaking, SCUBA diving and is deeply committed to furthering justice, equality and peace.
