Who We Are

Alli McCracken

Alli McCracken is the Campaigner for North America with Amnesty International in Washington, DC. She is the former co-director of the feminist anti-war organization Codepink. She graduated from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in May 2010 with a degree in Political Science and Religious Studies. Inspired by the Tree of Life 2010 Journey, after graduating from college she lived in the West Bank town of Beit Sahour for several months, doing volunteer work at a senior citizens center and at the Palestine Wildlife Society. Upon returning to the US she shared her experience at the Tree of Life 2011 Conference, and went on the Tree of Life Journey again in 2011 and 2012.

At Amnesty International, Alli works with AI branches around the globe to leverage international pressure for human rights in the US and Canada. She works on campaigns related to national security, the death penalty, police violence, and the rights of asylum seekers at the US/Mexico border. Through her work with Codepink, Alli organized and participated in several campaigns aimed at shaping a new American foreign policy in the Middle East- one that respects the rights of all people in the region and includes an end to unconditional US support for Israel. She is also a member of Jewish Voice for Peace.
